Pier Teresio Arduino created his first espresso machine, the Victora, in 1905. Five years later Arduino patented the forerunner of today's portafilter handle and filter baskets. In 1920 he released of the first Family Type espresso machine. It was chrome and used electricity, releasing the water through the coffee grounds based on steam pressure. Victoria Arduino was acquired by Nuova Simonelli in 2001, yet the brand lives on because Victoria Arduino is sophistication, embodied in machines with heritage, classic Italian design, and advanced technology.
